Conceptual Framework
& Philosopical Statement

The conceptual framework for the Dr. Robert E. Terrell Lodge of Research is centered on idealism. This term is use to express a frame of reference while the business of the LOR is pursued. Idealism here rests on the following primary tenets:

• Distinction and the highest standards are to be maintained by the Lodge in all its undertakings.

• Nothing short of excellence in ritualistic work is acceptable.

• Officers will write scholarly papers and make presentations.

• Members who expect to eventually be considered for officer positions must possess proven research and writing skills.

• Members are expected to dress properly to attend to the duties of the Lodge.

• Officers and members are leaders and are expected to demean themselves accordingly

The conceptual framework identified here is best capsulated as quality Masonic education and professional development of the craft. Thus, the theme of this lodge of research is reflective and forward looking professional scholarship.
Membership will be limited. This lodge will be made up of brothers who are dedicated to the highest ideals of Masonry. The professional craftsmen who enter here are by definition in pursuit of excellence. This being said, no one has all the answers, nor is anyone perfect; however together we can ensure that the Dr. Robert E. Terrell Lodge of Research lives up to its ideals.
